Turmeric Coffee is not coffee at all, but a nutritious alternative. Turmeric Coffee is not only delicious, it can have a positive impact on; inflammation, digestion, and blood sugar levels. I make up a jar, using equal quantities of the spices so that I always have Turmeric Coffee on hand.
Ingredients
  • ½ tsp Turmeric (ground)
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon (ground)
  • ½ tsp Ginger (ground)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Milk (dairy, almond, or soy)
Instructions
  1. Mix spices together in a coffee cup.
  2. Add boiling water, stir well, and add a dash of milk as you would with an instant coffee.
Alternatively, heat a cup of milk and add to the spice mixture, to make a creamy Turmeric latte. As you drink this spicy, Turmeric Coffee you may need to keep stirring it to stop the spices dropping to the bottom of the cup.

A green smoothie with fizz.
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Spinach leaves
  • ¼ Avocado
  • 3 Mint leaves
  • 12 Blueberries or 2 strawberries
  • 1 piece of fresh Ginger fingernail sized
  • ¼ cup Water
  • ½ -1 cup Soda water
Instructions
  1. Put all ingredients (except soda water) into a blender and blend until smooth. I use a Nutri-Bullet for smoothies, it blends all ingredients without leaving lumps or seeds. Pour smoothie into a large glass. Add soda water and stir gently. Drink it immediately and enjoy the fresh flavours and refreshing fizz; not to mention how great you will feel afterwards.

A refreshing alternative to drinking water. Ginger is great for your digestion.
Ingredients
  • 1 large head of fresh ginger
  • Boiling water
Instructions
  1. Slice ginger, place in a large jug or bowl. Pour 1 litre of boiling water over and let steep for as long as possible. Several hours is ideal. Refrigerate then pour into a soda stream bottle. If you don't have a soda stream go and buy one now. They are a great way to encourage your family to drink more water. Put ginger tea through the soda stream as you would a normal bottle of water. Refrigerate. This is a real winner.

Here is my version of Sangria, easy, refreshing and a great way to dilute that alcohol……Use a cheaper wine, you may not want to tamper with your favourite French varieties!
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup (or less) of Red wine (Pinot is my choice)
  • ½ cup (or more) Soda water
  • Squeeze of lime juice
  • Ice
Instructions
  1. No instructions needed really. You will find that this fills you up and might just reduce that need for a second or third glass!!
